Blue Cat is not a big fan of raw fish – unlike most other cats, he prefers his seafood cooked. So when he went to a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar yesterday he was at a loss at what to order. Until he saw the baked lobster sushi on the menu…
As you can tell by the name, the baked lobster sushi has baked lobster in it. Which makes sense since you can’t really eat raw lobster. And the lobster was served on top of California Roll, which is one of Blue Cat’s favorites. So he got an order to see what it was like.

As you can see, the lobster was part of a mixture that included spices, some sort of starch (maybe bread crumbs) and a sauce. And it was presented in a really beautiful way. Here’s what it looked like from the other side:

Yes, that’s an orchid in a small cup with shredded radish and dry ice to make the cool-looking “smoke.” Overall it was a very interesting look.
But how did it taste? Wonderful, of course. Good enough that there wasn’t any left by the end of the meal. And there were rumors of someone licking the plate. Hopefully when the serving staff wasn’t looking…
If you want to try Blue Cat’s new favorite sushi, you can find it at the Kura restaurant at 3478 Research Parkway in Colorado Springs, CO. Their website is right here.
But don’t tell them that Blue Cat sent you – they might remember the plate-licking…
