Day 4: Blue Cat is usually grateful for simple things, but today he’s grateful for something very First World. You see, sometimes Blue Cat needs to pick up medicine (never for himself of course) and yet is nervous about maintaining social distance inside of a store. And sometimes he’s been working late and doesn’t want to get out of his car in his comfy clothes. That’s where drive up pharmacies come into play.
This is the drive up pharmacy at Blue Cat’s local Walgreen’s. It’s not very fancy, but it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And when he gets to the window there’s a cool zombie dressed in a Denver Broncos football jersey saying “hello.” Plus there are nice pharmacy folks who give you your medicine and will even sell you cleaning supplies and dog food if you ask. (Blue Cat scored 2 small bottles of hand sanitizer last week – enough to keep him safe in his car for several months.)
So Blue Cat is grateful for drive up pharmacies – and the people who work in them – for keeping him safe and fully medicated.
