Blue Cat has been going through a lot lately – long hours at work (though working from home), the stress of helping to keep his family healthy, and ongoing anxiety about how things are going in the world. So he decided to do something to brighten his days – focus on the good things and being grateful for what is going right.
So Blue Cat made a pledge to post every day starting today and describing one thing that he’s grateful for. Sort of like an on-line gratitude journal. But with pictures. And not in any particular order.
Today Blue Cat is thankful for bicycles. This particular bicycle is a Specialized Rockhopper from the early 2000’s – but upgraded with new platform pedals, a rack (for carrying small cats, snacks and the usually-not-needed repair tools), a phone holder, two water bottle holders and a cool-sounding bell. It was a gift, which makes it doubly special as it reminds Blue Cat that someone was thinking of him every time he rides it.
Blue Cat is especially grateful for bicycles as they allow him to get outside and exercise in a way that’s fun and easy to maintain social distancing. And he can do it with his family, which brings them closer together.

I am grateful for my family, as cheesy as it might be to say. We’re all going through some tough times, but they always make time to help me when I need it.
