Blue Cat and the Candy Bucket

Halloween is a great time, especially when you have housemates that go trick-or-treating! Blue Cat scored some great candy this year… The bad part is that, once you’re in the candy bucket, it’s really hard to get back out. Especially if if you’re a small, crocheted cat. Don’t make the same mistake that Blue Cat […]

Blue Cat Finds His Way

Back in the olden days (when Blue Cat’s scribe was the chief of plans for an unnamed government agency), we used to plan for the future with “roadmaps” – a strategic plan that laid out where we were, where we were going, and how to get there. But that doesn’t work anymore, because the environment […]

Blue Cat Voted – How About You?

Blue Cat took advantage of early voting to cast his ballot in the election – the crowds at the polls really take a toll on him since he’s so short. That’s planning ahead – and realizing your own limitations and strengths. By voting early, Blue Cat didn’t get crushed, and he got a lot of […]

Blue Cat and the Award Winning Chili

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Blue Cat decided to bring chili to the church Fall Festival at the last minute, as he was bringing 8 people and didn’t want to be a slouch. So he threw some chili together at the last minute and put it in a crock pot. What he […]

Blue Cat Measures Up

Blue Cat made a mistake. He wanted to see how he measures up as a cat, and so he used a ruler to make the measurement. Why was that a mistake? Because, as you can see, he’s not very impressive by that measure. Blue Cat needs to measure himself against his own potential – he […]

Blue Cat Finds an Unlikely Friend

Blue Cat got an email the other day challenging him to have his next adventure somewhere in the very heart of his home to explore the “nooks and crannies” of his favorite living spaces. That way he could then explore somewhere new and exciting to learn how precious those homey places are. So Blue Cat […]

Blue Cat is in a Play

You may not have known, but Blue Cat is also an accomplished actor. In a recent production of Gypsy, the character Louise gets a stuffed cat for her birthday, and she says “Why are you Blue Cat – is it your birthday too?” Or perhaps it was “Why are you blue, cat? Is it your […]

Blue Cat Searches for His Roots

Blue Cat, like many of us, wants to learn about his roots. Most of us have birth certificates, genealogy sites, and relatives to ask – but not Blue Cat. He’s more interested in fiber content and dye lots. Genealogy is tough when you’re crocheted… Luckily for Blue Cat, there are pattern books and yarn wrappers to examine – and […]

Blue Cat is into Cooking

Blue Cat discovered something about cooking – that it seems complicated, but it really isn’t. All you need is a good cookbook… Blue Cat’s scribe has had this particular cookbook since 1989. (His original Better Homes and Garden’s cookbook was from 1979, but it got so sticky from ingredient spills that he had to get […]

Blue Cat Gets Squashed

Blue Cat has a garden, which is really good for getting fresh vegetables and to teach the principle of the harvest (you can’t get something without doing the necessary work that creates that thing). However, gardening has its disadvantages when you’re only 10 inches tall… But at least it was’t the pumpkins! Did you have […]
