Blue Cat has a Great Christmas

Blue Cat had a great Christmas. While others got games and clothes and candy and books, Blue Cat got a new brother. And what’s more important during the holidays than family? Blue Cat’s creator made Green Cat for her 2-year-old niece. He’s of medium size and is crocheted from worsted-weight acrylic yarn (that inexpensive but […]

Blue Cat Gets Ready for Christmas

Christmas is a big day for Blue Cat – and he wants everyone in his family to have a really great time celebrating the birth of Christ. Here’s what he’s been doing to get ready… First, some last-minute gift ordering: Then he picked up a special gift for the lady of the house… And a […]

Blue Cat and Recovering From Disaster

According to some, the world ends (or at least experiences a major disaster) today. Blue Cat doesn’t think that’s going to happen, but he did experience a minor disaster and saw how improvising and being creative can help you when things don’t go the way you’ve planned. Blue Cat’s creator is going to a party […]

Blue Cat (Doesn’t) Defend His Rice Bowl

Blue Cat was hanging out at the table before dinner the other night, and (as usual) something ordinary activated the “metaphor” part of his brain. This time it was the bowl of rice on the table, which he was particularly attached to. (Blue Cat loves rice, especially the brown kind). His first thought was to […]

Blue Cat Prepares for an Astronomical Event

Something big is coming, and Blue Cat is getting prepared. No, it’s not the end of the Mayan Calendar, nor is it the last triple date of the century (12/12/12). It’s something a lot more scientific, and a lot more fun, too Blue Cat is getting ready for the Geminid Meteor Shower this Thursday (December […]

Blue Cat Discovers the Meaning of Life

Today Blue Cat was looking for one of his creator’s old cookbooks so he could make popcorn truffles for Family Home Evening snack. He was in a real hurry, but he didn’t find the cookbook. He did, however, discover something about life in general… What Blue Cat discovered is that sometimes what you’re doing becomes […]

Blue Cat Finds Meaningful Work

Blue Cat had dinner at Village Inn on Wednesday – it was, after all, Free Pie Wednesday. And this is what he saw on his plate: This got him thinking about what constitutes “meaningful work.” He’s been reading a lot about how people crave doing something “meaningful” – but most of what’s written defines “meaningful” […]

Blue Cat Enjoys a Mystery

Blue Cat enjoyed a dinner-theater-mystery at the Adams Mystery Playhouse last night. It was a holiday party for his scribe’s company, but Blue Cat stowed away in a purse. That’s one of the benefits of being small, flexible, and not having to breathe. The show was really fun, and the buffet dinner was good as […]
